We Will Rock You Theatre Breaks
I went to see We Will Rock You last week and can definitely recommend the show to anybody who likes a good musical, or music by Queen, or writing bt Ben Elton so that’s a heck of a lot of people!
One of the most impressive things about We Will Rock You theatre breaks is the stage sets which come with some pretty amazing special effects. The young performers are brilliant too, especially Scaramouche, Killer Queen and Meat.
All in all a fantastic night out, or theatre breaks if you’re from out of town.
GIRL WITH A PEARL EARRING
“GIRL WITH A PEARL EARRING” TO OPEN AT THE THEATRE ROYAL HAYMARKET IN LONDON ON MONDAY 29 SEPTEMBER
Adrian Dunbar will star as ‘Vermeer’ in “GIRL WITH A PEARL EARRING”, a new play by David Joss Buckley, which will open in London at the Theatre Royal Haymarket on Monday 29 September, following previews from 24 September, for a limited season ending on Saturday 1 November.
Johannes Vermeer is the greatest painter of his time. When he hires a young girl Griet to help in his house, it is not long before she becomes more than a servant – she starts to help him in his studio, learning the art of painting by watching the master. And then, secretly, Vermeer begins to paint her and Griet becomes model and muse for his greatest masterpiece “Girl With A Pearl Earring”. This new play is a stage adaptation of Tracy Chevalier’s best-selling novel, which was subsequently made into an acclaimed film.
Kimberley Nixon (who played ‘Sophy’ in the television adaptation of “Cranford”) plays ‘Griet’, Sara Kestelman ‘Maria Thins’, Niall Buggy ‘Van Ruijven’ and Lesley Vickerage ‘Catherina’. Also in the cast are Maggie Service, Jonathan Bailey and Flora Spencer-Longhurst.
